YOGA IS A TOOL FOR
PERSONAL GROWTH AND EVOLUTION

Adjusting to the present situation with Covid, I’m delivering all the classes ONLINE Via Zoom. Classes are on a 4 week block booking system, payable in full before block commences.

Along with your live class you will also receive a weekly recording of the class, so if for some reason you can’t make the live class you won’t need to miss out and you’ll also have the added bonus of being able to practice again at home in your own time with the recording.

If you’re coming for the first time, I’ll organise a short 1-to-1 zoom with you where we can discuss general health, any ailments/injuries, this will give me a chance to plan any relevant modifications ahead of time giving you the best instruction I can.

Wear comfy clothing. Have any props and a blanket ready for use if you have, If not I’ll give you suggestions for substitutions. If possible just eat something light at least 2 hours before class, so as your body is not busy with digestion.

All classes open 15minutes before start time so come as early as you can, just to set up the connection, chat, or begin the unwinding process and get the most from your class.

Classes fees for Block of 4:-

  • 1 live class online per week (with weekly recording)…£32
  • 2 live classes per week (with recordings)…£40
  • 3 live classes per week (with recordings)…£48
  • Recordings only for 1 class per week (with a monthly zoom catch up)…£24
  • Concession for 1 class per week (further concession available if required)…£24

A real community story.

MY BECOMING A TEACHER

Some years ago at class my teacher announced that this would be his last class and that he was moving away. This news felt literally shocking, it was such a bolt out of the blue, all the way through that class my mind was reeling, I was thinking how would I manage without Yoga, I knew that without a teacher, without a class, I would not manage to maintain my practice. I had felt so many benefits, what could we do?…that’s when the idea struck, we could continue to meet together without a teacher and take turn about, up front, leading. At the end of class I put this idea to my fellow students and they all agreed, yes we’ll continue as we are without a teacher, taking turns leading.

My teacher kindly gave me some pointers, advice and a copy of the routine he taught. The following week, a little nervous, I rolled out my mat there up at the front. At the end of class, it was agreed, yes this would do just fine and that we would indeed continue, asking for who wanted to lead next, lots of shy smiles and nods all pointing in my direction! And so it begun…

After the first year of ‘keeping the class going’, finding a new teacher myself, ready to return to the workforce from maternity leave and with new members asking to join us all the time, I begun to accept class fees which I used to enrol on an online course with BSY (British School of Yoga) and Yoga Scotland’s Foundation course 60hrs spread over one year in Polmont, near Edinburgh. From here having my mind and body opened I went on to complete the highly respected Yoga Scotland Teacher Training consisting of 500hrs spread over two years in Glasgow.

Nearly 10 years on from those beginnings I feel humbled and grateful to the many teachers and students I have encountered. Year on year I continue with ongoing training, continually learning and sharing as I go.

What exactly is

HATHA YOGA?

Hatha is a general category that includes most yoga styles. It is an old system that includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), which help bring peace to the mind and body, preparing the body for deeper spiritual practices such as meditation. Today, the term hatha is used in such a broad way that it is difficult to know what a particular hatha class will be like. Ultimately it’s for you to go along try out a classes until you find the right teacher for you. When you do find the right teacher you’ll feel a sense of alignment with their teaching and so the journey of self discovery really begins.
